“I have mostly wood or tile floors but a short pile shag area rug (14x16). I’d like to replace my traditional stand up Dyson (great but too heavy and bulky) and my old stick vacuum with 1 tool...will this do it? If not, can you recommend?”

Hello there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson V8 Animal cord-free vacuum will provide you with 115 air watts of suction power. The direct-drive cleaner head has powerful bristles ideal for carpeting, but also work well on bare floors. You can not, however, turn the brush bar off, so if that's a concern with having hard wood, you may prefer the Absolute model. This vacuum will provide you with two cleaner heads - one of which is a soft roller. This floor tool was engineered specifically for hard floors. Best wishes, Kelly Dyson Customer Support
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Dyson V8 will do the trick, it is light and easy to use. I use mine almost daily and love it. we have 4 dogs and it helps tremendously in keeping up with dog hair. It is very easy to change from one tool to the other. I am very happy with mine.
