    • Answer Hello Hector, great question. The Echo Dot Kids can be used by adults as well by disabling parental controls for the selected device in the Alexa App. This will allow the device to be used without parental control limits.

    • Answer Hello Janster, Echo Dot or other Echo devices doesn't support calls for emergency service numbers like "911." Buy you can use Drop In to instantly check-in with others in your household. Drop In is an optional feature that lets you connect instantly to supported Alexa-enabled devices, like an intercom. Use Drop In to open an instant conversation between your devices or with your Alexa contacts. When you receive a Drop In, the light indicator on your Echo pulses green and you connect to your contact automatically. You can use Drop In to: 1. Have a two-way conversation by connecting to one of your Alexa-enabled devices (""drop in on Kitchen""). 2. Connect to a specific device group (""drop in on living room""). Only one Alexa-enabled device from the device group connects. 3. Have a group conversation with all supported Alexa-enabled devices under your Amazon household, which are not set to do not disturb. To start a group conversation ask Alexa to Drop In everywhere. All supported Alexa-enabled devices under your Amazon household account will connect regardless of their physical location. 4.   • Questionso, i tried to cut off kids mode. directions say, choose settings, then amazon kids, and turn it off there. no such option to turn off that i see. please give specific directions.

    • Answer Hello leej, thanks for your question. Here are the steps to turn off Amazon Kids on your device. Open the Alexa app. Select Devices. Select Echo & Alexa, then your device. Select the settings icon, then Amazon Kids. Turn Amazon Kids on or off. Hope this helps you. Have a great day!

    • Answer Hi there! The Echo Dot Kids 5th gen has all of the same built in features as the regular version, including the temperature sensor! Once you have everything set up, just ask Alexa "What's the temperature inside?" and she'll give you the average temperature of the home. If you have multiple temperature sensors set up, you can organize them into rooms in the Alexa app so you can ask more specifically "what's the temperature in the bedroom" for example.   • QuestionCan you call it from your downstairs Alexa device?

    • Answer Yes! But we don't call from the device itself. We use the Alexa app with ours as an intercom to contact each other even when we aren't home. We have different names for each persons device which is how we identify who we are calling. You can do a drop in call through the app to ask a quick question to somebody at home or in another room. Our Echo devices all came in very handy while working and schooling at home in the past few years and still do. The Echo show devices can be used to do on screen face to face calls too. We have the large Family show set up central in the home to call anyone who may be available to answer in general. It serves to help control the other echo devices for example when an alarm goes off on one device upstairs the Family Echo Show can be asked to stop that alarm. No more running up or down the stairs.

    • Answer The parent should activate it through the Alexa app that can be found on most app stores. Download app, select add device and then choose the type of device. You may or may not have to sign into your Amazon account if you have one. An account can be easily made at no cost to you.

  • QuestionCan you use two in the same house?

    • Answer Yes. We have 7 throughout our house. Great for when you want to hear a certain song, Just ask it to play it for you. Your Amazon Music, Sirius/XM, Pandora or other rmusic service can be used with these. Set a timer or alarm for wake up or appointments or just ask general questions. If Alexa knows the answer she will tell you. Ask the weather, tell her to call to order a pizza from fav place and much more. These are also great for seniors or people with special needs. They help with speech difficulties as an aid by prompting proper pronunciation of words. So useful!
