• No If it is not high enough to be cought by the ir sensor, it will run right over it. I've had to untangle a cord or two and a shoelace from the roller and the wheels.

• It seems to capture my husband's phone charger every time. . . But it's also always on the floor, so if you're asking if it will avoid cords on the floor, nope.
