You would require either cable internet, phone line DSL internet, 5G wireless internet (if available in your area), or a satellite internet such as Starlink. The eero does need access to the internet via an ethernet cable. This does not have to be via cable internet, it could be by satellite, DSL or other sources. The head eero would be hardwired to the internet and it would broadcast the eero wifi network. Other eero can connect to that head/gateway eero (either wired or wirelessly) and they will broadcast the same wifi network for your devices to connect to.
