• The Eero 6 Pro is the router. As long as you’re getting Internet to your computer your current modem should work just fine.

• Yes, it needs to be connected to your modem for cable internet service. It replaces your existing router to become your primary router with the booster(s) helping to expand high speed internet throughout the house.
