Yes it's going to work. You have to first setup and register the additional EERO device while within the Wi-Fi range of the gateway unit. Once that's done and the eventual update is completed, move the new ap to the desired location, connect it to your wired network and then power it up. It will self configure as wired rather than wireless for the backhaul.

There needs to be one eero upstream of all other hardwired eero (even if you put the eero into bridge mode). So, your topology will look like this: modem/internet/router->gateway eero->Switch->other hardwired eero.

This can be a wonderful solution if the walls in your building disrupt WIFI. Unfortunately I cant provide a wiring diagram, but if your home has an ethernet network and each unit is connected it should work via the wired network, I hope this answers your question and that you have a wonderful day.
