I have a node that is set up approximately 100 feet from the main router in another building. It works, speeds are variable from very good to acceptable depending upon atmospheric conditions, but so far I've been happy with how this has worked. The building in which the second mesh node is set up is about 10 feet lower than the house, so I have the node on top of a cabinet to improve line of sight.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is impossible to determine. In general we like to see about 30 to 50 feet between eero, however devices can get a connection at much greater distance. The local environment will play a huge role. Differing wall materials will reduce range, with brick, stone, glass and metal being the worse. More obstacles like furniture, counters or the like will also reduce range/create interference. Given the many unknowns we cannot give any reliable estimate on how far you can get the signal. We would recommend you start small/with a few eero and add in as you need. Make sure to experiment with placement. Have the eero mounted higher in a room tends to help as it removes obstacles in a line between the eero and the device.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Carla! It's very hard to give an exact distance because of how many things can affect signal strength. Walls are one, but how and where pipes and electric is run, where appliances are located, or even just trees intervening between the final eero and the security camera. The good news is that during setup, the eero app will help you identify that the individual eero units have a good connection to themselves. Personally in situations like this I like to just try it out in my home, I just verify the return policy before I purchase anything as some particulars can vary from state to state. I hope that helps, have a great rest of your day!
