“How does mounting this model work? Does it come with mounting brackets? Are they even necessary with this particular t.v. I've been using a projector for the last several years so I've not yet owned a model similar to this.”

Quite easy actually. It comes with its own brackets. Best to use a 4ft level at least, I’d recommend. Draw your line, drill your holes, secure the brackets and mount the screen.
