Charging plate is not battery powered. It must be plugged into a wall outlet.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Outlet ...it is the charger for the Mug that has the built in battery to keep your coffee at the temp you preset for 2.5 hours. You can keep the Mug on the charger while drinking your fifteen if convenient. Once you remove the cup fton charger it works off built in battery. Either way it keeps your beverage at "your" preset temp. The Mug senses coffe and starts when filled and shuts off when empty.
