I just put it in the window with no cover. If you want to cover it feel free to do so. As far as cleaning just keep the air filter clean check it once a month and you should have a trouble free air conditioner
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The ac unit has a slide out filter that is removed by simply finding the small handle and simply pull it to the right and out. Carefully vacuum the filter. If you keep it clean it should last the life of the ac unit. The filter can be carefully rinsed under cool water. Allow to dry overnight. GrandNationalMike
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Look for Grand National Mikes reply to this problem left as feedback for this Emerson EARC5MD1 Model that describes the problem and a simply fix. You will need a small hand held torch and Good Quality Silver Solder with Rozin core. Remove cover and run it to find the exact location of the leak that will be somewhere along the bottom rail of the Evaporator left side, rear bottom. If you are lucky perhaps you have a Frind with a leak detector. Or some dish detergent is an excellent leak detector. Hope this was helpful. Look at your unit and find the leak. If it is under warranty they should exchange out the unit or repair your unit. Get back to let me know how easy of a repair it was. Good Luck !! Grand National Mike NJ.
