“It says Magsafe, but the unit I have doesn't snap on to iPhone 16. If places on the circle, it does charge, but it doesn't magnetically hold unless other Magsafe where they attach mangetically and deosn't move around/fall down. Is it a unit problem?”

That does sound like an issue, try shaking the unit around a little, the magnets aren’t attached to the plastic back panel and will move around if the unit is jolted/dropped, if that doesn’t work, it might just be defective.
