• There is a very tiny diagram on the battery cover that is etched in the metal on the newer models.

• The diagram is ridiculously tiny etched on the side of the end cap which nobody would ever find. The answer is load all six AA batteries, positive terminal down towards the lens. Screw the endcap back on, and it will work.

• If you look near the bottom it shows the directions to load them.
