Information on this is hard to come by but I found multiple forums and videos confirming 32gb is possible. Both dimms (ram slots) are user accessible and upgradeable. I installed a second 8gb stick and the performance increase is worth every penny and then some. 32 is a lot unless you have a very specific need that gobbles up ram. It cost me a total of 70 dollars for the ram and an electronics repair kit with the screwdrivers and plastic pry tools I needed to get in. Find a kit at Walmart or online. There's a YouTube video of the process. Make sure you find a large piece of plastic wrap or a trash bag to place the rubber feet on. You have to peel them off to access the screws and placing them adhesive side down on plastic will save the adhesive. Peel it back off and reapply when you have everything screwed back in. Sounds intimidating but it's a piece of cake. I've been in and out of mine several times now.
