“I was wondering how long would this device last to you average users out there. I've had bad experienced with previous HP laptops and my recent one dying because of a hard drive failure.”

This laptop is suitable for the average user. Build quality is good. Can't say as to the life of the device, but lately HP has been on point with build and quality of their products. The only gripe I have with the laptop is that I wish the battery would last longer. Granted it is a 15" laptop, so I don't expect it to last forever. The good thing is that you can upgrade it yourself fairly easily with special tools. So you can ditch the HDD with a super fast NVMe SSD and max out the RAM. After that, this laptop should last you a long time as I hope it does for me.

Just bought the HP envy as prior HP laptop lasted 8 yrs
