Mine came with both a single ended cable and the dual so it will work with either :)

Yes you can. It has a splitter for if you need it but I use it on my personal laptop and my work laptop with just the single port and it works well on both.

It has 2 sets of cords

If you only have 1 port 3.5mm you should be able to use the other cable included in the box!
