• YES it can. I don't know why people answer questions when they don't know what they're talking about! The response that said "I'm assuming" is wrong! The XL does not mean the cartridge is larger, it means it contains more ink. Both fit the Epson Wireless XP-440.

• The 288 xl has more ink. For example some kits have a black 288xl , and 288 other colors in case you print more black/ white papers. yes both are correct cartridge numbers

• Yes, 288 works in the XP440. The 288XL contains more ink & is more expensive.

• One cartridge is larger then the other. Depending on the printer you have you may not be able to fit it in. I’m assuming
