• The printer comes with a full set of cartridges. From my experience it uses ink very efficiently so I've yet to have to buy any replacement cartridges yet but a continuous ink system is available for this particular model & that can also help with ink consumption.

• This printer comes with a full and complete set of cartridges. As far as I know, Epson does not provide 'starter' cartridges. The ones that came with my new in box 1430 look identical to Genuine Epson cartridges that I have used with my previous 1400 Epson.

• It says they are full. It takes 6 ink cartridges so very expensive to replace them. Unless you need to print on a DVD or need to print high quality pictures this isn't for you. I also have a laser printer for printing letters & forms. It's a Samsung. I got it for about $80. It has wifi & prints on both sides. The drum last for a year or so & cost less than $100 to replace. I'm very happy with this printer.

• I do not own the printer in question, but all printers come with starter ink cartridges.
