A:Answer While I have not actually tried to use this 1430 in both modes, I can say that when you install it, the first step is to either try to pair it with your WiFi...OR...to attach the USB cable for the 'wired connection' option. It seems to me that once you have made the WiFi / USB choice, your connection method is set. It looked to me as if you want to change modes, you need to start from 'ground zero'..!
FYI...I am using my 1430 in USB mode, but plan on 'reinstalling' it before long in Wireless. Having the wireless feature was one of the reasons I bought this printer....replacing an Epson 1400 that had given outstanding service for many years.
