• Hi Joseph, Yes, the EcoTank ET-2800 must be turned on to print. It does go to sleep after a period of non-use and uses minimal power to maintain sleep mode. If you send a print job, the ET-2800 wakes and prints. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.
