Hello Meeeee. If the yellow ink tank is empty, you would need to refill the ink tank first before you can continue to print. Unfortunately, the printer does not have the option to print in black ink only temporarily. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.

I have had the same ink in my printer that came with it. I wouldn't say I print tons of things, but I print a lot, mostly pictures but some other documents like PDFs and stuff like that, but I do know, based on other printers I've owned, that this bad boy is THE BEST. Let me break it down: -Great Value -Easy As Pie to Setup -Uses VERY LITTLE ink -Prints Photos Pixel Perfectly
