• Hello Tina. Unfortunately, the ET-3830 scanner door is not removable. However, if any shadows appear when scanning, there is a scan setting to "remove shadows" within the print software. We also recommend looking at standalone scanners like the V39 model. It includes a removable lid and works great for scanning books and magazines. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
