ET-3850 has 2 ports. 1 displays the USB icon, but sadly a USB connection will not fit in the port. I've never seen this type of connection. For this printer, you need to scan through wifi and it's glitchy at best. The online video for this printer didn't match up to mine. It can scan. You just have to figure it out yourself. Then attach a flash drive to your computer and transfer the files.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no surge protector in the ET 3850 because Epson ‘engineering” decided to force users to use their proprietary app. Which is not very good at all. Even more important the darn device wasn’t designed to do two sided scanning. After using this device I truly regret the purchase. It’s asometimes useful door stop imo. Wish I could get my money back from Best Buy. Furthermore works not recommend they sell this model anymore.

Like the WorkForce Pro WF-7840, which is currently available at Bestbuy.com (inventory levels may change). The USB port allows you to print from or save scans to a USB drive.
