“The main website for this EF12 say's that it can "accept content up to 4K". What does that mean exactly? Will this actually output a 4k image, or just downscale to 1080p?”

Hi Nicolas. The actual display resolution of the Epson EpiqVision Mini EF12 is 1920 x 1080. This projector will accept 4K content, but will downscale the video to 1080p. Regards, Bobby - The Epson Team.

Mine runs in 4K. I dont understand why everyone keeps saying it downscales to 1080. My resolution is 3840X2860 Using My Xbox one X

exactly what its says - it will accept a 4k signal and downscales to 1080P XBOX connected with 4K

Dont let 1080p fool you .. the picture is freaking CLEAN and its super bright ... picture comes in beautiful even on a grey extremely textured wall... highly impressed

It projects in true 4k. Also suports HDR10. I am running it rite now. 3840x2160. No down scaling. If yours is not running in true 4k it is because you are running through a reciever that does not support 4k. It runs HDR 10 as well but only through a suporting reciever.
