“I am having trouble accessing an external hard disk plugged into the USB port. It shows it as external storage but I can’t get to the movies. Anyone know how?”

Hi Kathy, You must use a movie player app to play movies from the external drive connected to your LS300. It should show the available movie files. If you do not have a movie player app, please download one to the Android TV in your projector. If this does not work, make sure the movies are saved as MP4s or other compatible formats.
