Hi KLM, The EpiqVision Ultra LS300 does not have to be used in a totally dark room, but it is designed for indoor lighting. Using the projector outdoors during the day would result in a dim image and the possibility of exposing it to excessive dust and/or moisture. Regards, Dylan - The Epson Team.
