• The XP-7100 or any Epson printer only supports 2.4 GHz frequency. If you are using a 5 GHz wireless router, set the router to operate in dual band (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) mode. If your router uses a single network name (SSID) for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band, give each band its own network name (SSID) instead, such as Home Network 2.4 GHz and Home Network 5 GHz.

• My router is split to 5G and 2.4G and my Epson 7840 won't recognize either.

• No. I have my router configured to broadcast different SSID's for 2.4G and 5G. The printer auto-discovered and connected to the 2.4G network, but when I attempted to force it by manually entering the SSID and password for the 5G it failed to find the network.
