“It cleans its ink jets by spraying ink onto an internal piece of foam. This foam gets filled up with ink, and then smears it on the ink head, which then tracks ink on the CDs I'm trying to print. Why does it waste ink like this?”

I use this for printing CDs only. It loves to clean its heads all by itself. It's even worse if I turn the printer off between uses. Then it cleans its head every time I turn it on. Is there another manufacturer making a printer that prints CDs in this price range? I'm very disappointed with how this and my previous Epson wastes ink.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is going to be true of any inkjet printer. You should run the head cleaning utility about once a month. When it cleans out the ink accumulated in the printheads, the ink has to go somewhere. That's what the ink pad is for.
