“Specs say it has Wired Networking. Does that mean there's an ethernet port, or is it just the USB 2.0 connection? Also, why does a $300 scanner in 2023 have USB 2.0? I hope that means it's transferring data in real time instead of at the end of the scan.”

no wired ethernet, just usb 2.0 and you'll have to ask the epson product engineers on the 'why usb 2.0' question, but maybe that's partly why its inexpensive for a quality scanner. scanner is excellent at such a low cost, however - hard to find these dpi's and bit levels for anything less than $800-$1,000, 35mm negative scanning is excellent, but the bundled photo software just ok.
