Size on your computer depends on what size you set in your scanning software. Since it's an 8x10 when you scan and import into your computer you would have a 8x10 if the edges if the 11x8.5 are cropped away. If you just scan the picture with no cropping then you will have a 11x8.5 picture in your computer but it will have blank edges of .5 x 1. Crop the edges while scanning and you will have an 8x10 or some variant of d8x10. 4x5, 2x2.5, etc. You need to set the scanning size for whatever you want the output to be.

The size of the scanned image will depend on the resolution you choose for the scan, the higher the resolution the bigger the image. You can subsequently print the digital image to any size you want.
