Space your photos 3/4 inch apart and this will give individual thumbnails and files.

In the home or office mode when you preview it will put the pics in thumbnails. In professional mode in preview you draw a box around each object you want to scan, then click on the one you want to scan, then the clik on the next and scan, etc.
