• No, you do have to be plugged directly to a laptop or desktop in order to scan. Just make sure you are connect to wifi and also you need to download a app called “EPSON smart panel” and you can start scanning.

• It connects to your WiFi so you can use it that way, or you can plug a USB drive into the port on the scanner and use that to transfer to your laptop. Most people just use the WiFi.
