Is this the small black 410 or the large black 410 ink (finger is pointing to) for the Epson XP-830? null

XP-830 takes 1 of each size.
Larger, wider one on the left side.
Easy to see which size goes in which slot.

It’s the lesser capacity cartridge. I prefer to buy the large capacity, but I was told at a Best Buy store that they don’t carry them anymore and probably because they are no longer manufactured. I am going to check out other office supply stores to see if that’s true.

it is the wide one. confusion reigns with naming these cartridge. the narrow one is photo black and to further mess things up there is the extended life one that is supposed to print twice as many copies but is the same dimensions. then add model 410 printer that does not use 410 ink.

This is the standard capacity ink cartridge. Best Buy and Bestbuy.com don't carry the XL cartridges.
