Hi TW, All Epson scanners support both color and black and white, including the ES-580W. Regards, Mark - The Epson Team.

This will be the best scanner for you. B/w or color doesn’t matter since you will be paying not less for a B/w scanner. Also the features you mentioned does not come for a B/w scanner.
