“Can the color cartridges be replaced with black cartridges? I don't need any color printing.”

• No. If you put a black ink cartridge in a color slot it will not preform correctly because the color cartridges are matched up with a chip on the ink cartridge that matches to the printer software. However some Epson models do have 2 slots for black ink cartridges. I believe you can purchase an Epson printer with black ink only. You also want to look at printers that can take the high yield black ink cartridges, cost a little more but it holds more ink.

• Hello IC. The WF-4830 is designed to only work with Cyan, Yellow, Magenta, and Black 822 and 822XL Epson Ink Cartridges. Unfortunately, you cannot use a substitute color instead of another color in the printer. Regards, Kevin - The Epson Team.
