The use is very simple. Just plug it in and you are good to go.

Yes you can. I prefer to connect by WiFi -- no cords. Also, here's a trick I discovered out of frustration with the printer. When it goes into sleep mode, to wake it up, press the red key and on/off key at the same time for a second. It wakes up the printer.
