“Do you need to use a USB cable to connect the printer to a laptop or desktop in order to set up the wireless connection? I read in one of the reviews that you do need a cable. Thanks”

I set mine up without wires. Make sure your Wi-Fi is working. Connect the printer to your Wi-Fi, then it shows up as another device on your laptop. Then it's just like printing with a dedicated printer, except the whole family can use it without having to use your computer.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I did not need a USB cable to connect the printer directly to my home wireless network and all of our computers with a wireless connection (3 laptops and a desktop) send jobs directly to the printer over the wireless network.
