“If I don't use it often, will the print heads clog? I had the XP 420 & the print heads clogged. Is this printer a far better upgrade?”

• Unfortunately, as I found out, yes. Great printer if you use it regularly. Let it sit for a month and it's done--at least that's what happened to me. The cleaning function didn't fix it, and even using a solution only partly fixed it for me (as in went from refusing to print because of clogged print nozzles to now printing, but very poorly).

• Yes, if you do not use it often it may clog, Try to print at one or two pages a week or two.
