• Yes to both questions. The fixed speed doesn't always take pictures, but it does let you know when you are approaching it.

• It does not notify you of red light cameras out of the box. You need to purchase the escort live service and smart cable for this to work. Personally I do not use escort live but the X70 in general is an excellent radar
