On the app (escort live), there is the ability to change the alert tone to a doorbell like tone instead. Go to the app, connect to the radar, then go to settings and radar settings. Also on mine, the app also gives the ability to change the type of alert tone that is initially and continuously given. You can have it set to alert at the same volume throughout the detection so if you turn it down, the whole alert will begin and stay that volume. hope this helps.
