• The eufy Smart Wi-Fi C31 2K Video Doorbell can work whether it's battery-operated or wired. However, if it's operating in battery mode, it will not ring an existing mechanical chime. Instead, the Homebase acts as the chime by default, and you can enable Homebase alerts and adjust the ringtone and volume in the app. Alternatively, you can purchase an additional USB dongle with a doorbell chime accessory that is compatible with the eufy 2K battery doorbell if you need a separate chime. If you are wiring the eufy Video Doorbell to your home's transformer, it could potentially ring your existing mechanical chime, but not all chime models are supported.
