“I understand you need WIFI to access the app and videos, BUT will the camera still trigger and record even without WIFI? For example, lets say that a storm knocks out the internet and blows down a tree. Will I see that vid after the internet is restored”

I don't see why it wouldn't. You just wouldn't get the pings to your phone when your router is not powered. As long as the camera is on, video should be saved to the internal card and retrievable once it reconnects to the wifi.
