• Yes, Turn the mute button on if only you want to listen. Leave the regular sound on for your wife. You can hear the program through your headphone with the mute on or off.

• Yes, it is possible. You can use a splitter cable to split the headphone jack from the tv. One would connect to the speakers for the tv and the other would connect to your headphones. The headphones would have to be plugged in. It depends on the TV, if you can use them wirelessly while playing sound out loud.
