It's video memory dedicated to the gpu it will not mess with your system memory.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.1- no this is not VR RAM. That 4GB is the graphics cards own RAM just like your pc having 16GB of RAM. 2- it won't mess with your pc RAM. The dedicated GPU has it's own dedicated RAM (4GB) for performing calculations. If you have Vive, Gtx 1060 is the minimum requirement for gpu If you have Oculus, then 1050 ti would be the minimum gpu required. Hope I answered your questions. Your 16GB pc RAM is more than enough for VR. But for gpu (graphics card) it depends what kind of VR headset you have.
