• Yes, you can place this on your window pane, pointing outside. Please note that you need to turn off the night mode, to avoid reflections from the glass at night

• Yes, as long as you have a Mircro SD card inserted. The camera can detect motion, human form, record on schedule or motion. You can manually go into the app and snap a picture in live view as well.
