• No - For this device to function properly you need to connect the device to a reliable power source and link this up to your 2.4Ghz WiFi network. You can view the live videos from your device at all times as long as the device is online, if you wish to view the playback from your device, you need to insert an SD card or subscribe to the EZVIZ cloud play service

• No. I have older (4yrs) cameras and the updated phone app and EZVIZ Studio on my desktop. I am able to use either to view my cameras 'live'.
