It is a Game Key Cart which will require you to be connected to the internet to install the game on your Switch 2. The cart will need to be in the system to play the downloaded game.

You physically get a card. But if your question is if the game is loaded on that card, the answer is no. It’s a game key card

The digital code is no longer needed confirmed by Square Enix. The digital downloadable content is in the main menu of the game when you start it up, there will just be an option to download all of it or individually. Also no it is not a physical, it is a game key card which is a Phiscal key in in the card to download the game digitally, so it’s half and half I guess, instead of just digital you have a physical key to trade or sell later on. They don’t have big enough storage cards yet for the switch to fit a game all on the card itself, so thìs method is used for now for some games.
