Hello Mark! In order for the Fire Recast to work, you need to have a Fire Stick with connection to some sort of WiFi or mobile hotspot. The challenge you would run into when not in any type of service is that without a connection you wouldn't get access to the recordings from your home Recast while on the go. Also, you wouldn't need to have a 2nd Recast as long as you are able to get any type of cellular connection while on the go with a Fire Stick, Fire Tablet, Fire TV, or Fire TV app on a smartphone. You can access recordings from your home Recast in that situation then. Now if you are able to have any mobile hotspot capability with a second Recast and an HD antenna and a Fire Stick in your RV you would then be able to record additional content while in your RV but that would be the only real benefit to having a 2nd Recast.
