The Fire Recast only works with a Fire Stick. You can still use the TVs you have, but you will need a Fire Stick to plug into any TV you wish to watch the Fire Recast on or you will need to move a Fire Stick from TV to TV. I even us it on on of my old TVs that doesn't have an HDMI, I just had to purchase an adapter which was around $20. I have no experience with the TIVO, but have been using the Fire Recast for about 3 months and it has worked great.

They go on sale for $35 regularly. 2. Just switched from TiVo which has a great user experience and mobile app but has a monthly fee to Recast because it ties in with my Fire TV sticks and prime subscription videos and has no monthly fee. Recast works well on the TV but the mobile app is very minimal and doesn’t even have a guide. Had to get used to that.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would recommend the FireTV Recast over the TiVo. We switched from TiVo to the Recast. You do not need to have a smart TV, only a TV with an available HDMI port for you to plug your Fire TV device (not the recast) into it.
