Yes, anything that’s recorded should still play through you home network. As for you second question, the Fire TV Recast can only record OTA shows. This means you can only record with a digital antenna receiving local broadcast shows. As for any internet/streaming material like such as YouTube, it cannot record any streaming content. Only live TV content- OTA.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you loose your connection to your internet provider, as long as you still have your in home WiFi working, you will still be able to watch your recorded shows. You will not be able to watch streaming content until the internet connection is reestablished. To the best of my knowledge you cannot record YouTube or other similar content.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope. All FireTV devices must be connected via WiFi in order to access the streams (live or recorded) from the Recast. It will also ONLY record antenna/OTA signals, nothing else.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Internet is required for setup and updates but is not required to record or watch over the air content. The antenna that you attach will provide the signal and the hard drive will store the content locally.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Playback should be possible but you can only record broadcast TV.
