“Is there a way to just connect the antenna to the Fire TV Recast 1TB OTA DVR, and connect a cable directly to the TV input from the Fire TV Recast 1TB OTA DVR to get it to work on the TV instead of going the WIFI route via a Firestick?”

I don't think so, as it seems to have to sync to the FireStick, When I have called for assistance, Amazon devices service seems to always have me go through the Firestick in all repairs.
